Really, I love books. There’s something magic about books, about their smell and physical paper… Touchable, keeping information, guarding human knowledge… forever. And yes, I love book shelfs too. Bird flu – A “Twelve Monkeys” Analogon?

The H5N1 virus – better known as the bird flu – is going around the world. I thought about some analogies with the hollywood movie “Twelve Monkeys” from 1995. Ok, I know the virus is not that dangerous and is not that ambitious to kill, but what could be in ten years. Is this little H5N1 going to maka a deathly mutation? Nobody knows. As I am watching the news channels, I think they do it just to have a good header for the evening news. But at the other side I can imagine how such a virus could develope in a real threat.
